How can I forget you when you own my heart?

The memory of you lives on in those lonely dark corners,

I often forget to clean them,

And on lovely nights such as this,

I stumble upon your face.

Tears drench the pillow,

My heart mourns a love lost,

How I wish I’d never known you,

Because then at least I wouldn’t have to teach myself every day,

A new chapter on how to live without you,

And even when I see you, I can’t look directly into your eyes.

For despite my best efforts, mine still cannot lie.

Look closely and you’ll see it as plain as day,

It’s been over 2 years and I love you like it was just yesterday.
